Laurie's Market Update | June 2026
Laurie's market update highlights a real estate market in rebalancing mode. Home prices in Whatcom County, Bellingham, and Skagit remain largely unchanged from last year, showing overall price stability rather than growth.
The bigger shift is in supply—there are now significantly more sellers than buyers locally (up about 35%), giving buyers more negotiating power and requiring sellers to price and present homes more strategically.
Economically, gas, fuel, and energy costs are up, and inflation has increased, while unemployment remains steady and interest rates have slightly dipped. However, rising inflation may keep rates from dropping much further.
Overall, the market is steady on prices but shifting toward buyers in leverage.
