Laurie's Market Update | July 2026
|
This month, Laurie shared a look at over 25 years of Whatcom County real estate history. While the market has seen cycles—from the 2008 housing downturn to the COVID-era boom—the long-term trend remains clear: home values have continued to appreciate over time.
Today, the market is becoming more balanced. Buyers have more choices and greater negotiating power as inventory increases, while sellers may need to price their homes more competitively. Interest rates have also returned to the 6–8% range, similar to the early 2000s, shaping today's buying and selling decisions. The key takeaway: real estate has always experienced ups and downs, but history shows it remains a strong long-term investment. |
